Compared to the others, here you are sitting and alone in the recording studio. Yet ... even so, just sitting on a stool, you manage to convey all the drama of this song. This is true art!

Honestly, the Singer performance is still my favourite. This one is still beautiful, but I don't like the tempo choices he made in certain parts (specifically the way he sped up some of the phrases), and the way certain runs turn and come down instead of going up all the way, as well as certain upward jumps that are missing from this version. I also dearly miss those air-deprived cries in the refrain about two thirds through the song, which Dimash chose to replace with spoken whispers instead. Some of his other later performances might also arguably be more technically advanced, but they all feel like they sacrifice a certain emotional weight in return. And there are many more singers that can sing with technically perfection, but far fewer that can emote as well as Dimash. I appreciate that quality of his far more than his technical prowess, and so I dearly miss it when it is sacrificed for musicality/melodicality.
Personally I really love every and each performance of this song. Technically speaking this song is very hard, but emotionally as well it is. So to me every time he sings SOS it responds to Dimash differents states of mind during performing. After the tribute to Denis Ten with this song, it seems to have more emotional weight for him, and that is somehow reflected every time, can be my perception thought. And I really love how his interpretation of the song evolved because of that and many other reasons. Somehow this version sounds like a more mature Dimash and I love that, but at the end of the day, all this is very subjective so everyone has different preferences and perceptions. Have a nice day 😊
